Minions are playable characters in Book of Monsters. If you die while in the round, you have the option to respawn as a minion. Minions are on the monster's team but are very weak.

When you are in the lobby with more than around 10 seconds left, you can spawn in as a Minion. You can quit being a Minion by clicking the button at the top that says back, along with resetting your character or rejoining. Based on which side is winning, how many players, and how many current player Minions there are, you can either spawn in as a cow or a mailbox or you can choose your minion from your inventory and then spawn in.
Most Minions have the exact same moves: a short jump, and a controllable attack that makes you dash forward with a burst of speed. You will hurt humans or terrain only at the end of your attack after you hit a wall or travel far enough. The attack has a 10-second cooldown. You can also attack humans by "biting" them, by standing still next to then for 2 seconds. Text will then show "Took a bite out of <player_name>!" However, this does not always work. Breaking a heart of a human by dashing will not show the usual "Broke <player_name>'s heart."
Some minions have a second ability. The Chicken minion can lay an egg bomb, which will explode and damage any Humans in its radius. The Milk and Plastic Egg minion can explode and damage any Humans in its radius. Before it explodes, it will walk more slowly. The other minions are currently missing a second ability, but they will likely receive one in the future.
At the end of the match, you will get 10 Coins for every heart broken, and 1 coin for every 5 pieces of debris. If a human presses a minion's button, the minion will drop 5 coins. (No coins are lost from the minion)

Trivia[]
- On the side of the mailbox is the number 404, a common error message for when information is not available.
- Barcode has said he will be adding new content to minions in the next updates.
- The Chicken, Milk, Scorplug, and Plastic Egg minion were obtained as a reward for collecting some of the eggs in the Easter event 2021 and 2022. The Zombie Egg would award the chicken, the Yummy Egg would award the Milk, and the Mysterious Egg would award the Scorplug. The Egg Egg Egg from the Easter event 2022 would award the Plastic Egg.
- The minion Plastic Egg is a random color when you spawn in with it.
